Default football!

I suppose we could probably start organizing this and/or find out if there is enough interest for a league again this year.

12 team league like last year, My understanding is a lot of people would prefer not doing head to head anymore. I am against this but will accept whatever the consensus happens to be. Looking at $20 a team again this year. Also, if there is enough interest, I wouldn't mind having a keeper league starting after this season.

Cash Kerouac took home the David Cole Memorial trophy last year. I will be providing another trophy for the champion again this year.

Anyway, post if you are interested, first spots will be given to those who played last year.

@eric @scott @pat @Jared @DAntae @smyce @StrideR @Cash Kerouac @kimpantaloons @mikel

Yes, please.

Also def in favor of keeper(s), woulda done some deals for picks at the end of last season.

In favor of points, but don't mind H2H.

also, yes to keepers/no to H2H

although i did finish runner-up in the cole memorial league last year, i ended up 6th in my offline league despite scoring the most points in the regular season (and "giving up" the 3rd most). i lost out on a bye because of bad H2H luck, and then that eagles/lions snow bowl on my goddamn birthday should have, on paper, been during a bye week for me. but nope! since i had stafford AND megatron, and obviously passing was not much of an option in that game, i lost that matchup/was done for the year/won $0. fuck H2H all the way to hell. if money is on the line, it should be the actual top 3 teams winning the money and not who's the luckiest

so, in a nutshell, my opinions are the exact opposite of mikel's. and keep in mind he had, by far, the luckiest matchups for much of our season last year

Well I didn't think I could be more in favor of the points system, but sure that's a nice added bonus.

I can get in touch with anyone who played last year except for @Cash Kerouac and @StrideR, if anybody knows how to reach them. they haven't logged in here in over a month. I think someone (@burnin'?) was texting them last year, but I could try the email addresses they have on file I suppose

I'm in! I enjoy the unpredictability of head-to-head, but don't mind points if that's the way the crowd feels. I'm less on board with keepers.

I renewed the league which also sent out another message to him so I'll give it another day then we'll find someone else.

Some business to vote on:

- Head to Head vs Points
- Keeper (if so, how many) vs Non-Keeper
- Best Draft Date for Everyone

Are there any other issues that people want to vote on before the season?

voting for points since I dislike unpredictability.

re: keepers, I don't have a preference.

when did we do the draft last year? sunday & monday nights work well.

i prefer having keepers (nothing substantial, like two or three at most), but i won't gripe about doing non-keeper

you know where i stand on points vs. H2H

as for the draft date, any night should work fine as long as we have a couple weeks notice so i'm able to request said night off

don't care about keeper status one way or the other.

but, again, voting for head to head with money on the line means you are, in fact, a total fucking idiot. points league all the way. or did the fact that our "first place" team last year had fewer points than half the league not already prove how stupid head-to-head is?

and looking at last year right now, it shows that i finished 8th...and yet the 7th and 6th place teams both had worse records than me even in the head-to-head W/L? so uh, i really don't get how any of this makes fucking sense.

1 Points!

2 Voting for 1 keeper or at the least the ability to buy and sell at the deadline with future draft picks.

3 Sunday thru Thursday weeknight works best

Yahoo does a consolation tourney for the 5-8 teams that no one pays attention to. I ignore those results when figuring the draft order for my league.

that's...odd. i can't even find the results of said consolation tournament? the results page only shows standings and the #1-4 seeding playoff bracket.

whatever.

There's a consolation tab next to the championship tab. In the playoffs screen for last year's standings.

EDIT--Haha, upon further inspection apparently I kicked your ass 130.10 to 90.52.

Suck it.
