so far kill 'em all and master of puppets. kill 'em all is cool but a lot of it just sounds like a big thrash jam session rather than anything terribly cohesive. at least "hit the lights" is an awesome opener

master of puppets is really really good. even if a song like "leper messiah" goes on too long it's still great

just put on ...and justice for all and it might be my favorite yet. looking most forward to st. anger of course

For some reason Hammett ' s solo on Atlas Rise gets me giddy.

It's pretty progy. The change ups are a little haphazard, i think.

Outside of the title track, blackened and one, I can barely get into any of the rest.

heh i'm on one now

it ends well but i just really hate that slowed-down, clean sound in the first half. sounds like awful post-grunge

i like dyer's eve and maybe harvester of sorrow too. the album is too long and so poorly mixed.

master of puppets was an album that seriously changed my music taste and i'll always appreciate it for that. lightning follows a very similar structure and has a better ballad and instrumental. i get what you're saying about kill em all but it's completely my type of thing.

st anger is, in my opinion, the worst album of all time. it's astounding how such a huge band could get a 'back to our roots' album so wrong. and they even had the foresight to make a documentary about them struggling to make it.

no opinions on hardwired really. i listened to it a couple of times, it was fine.

so i went to a job interview today but left because it seemed strangely familiar

i go in this morning and find that it's basically this huge cattle call. i get there and am one of about 25 people handing in resumes at the front desk and filling out some sheet. i get rushed into a room with 6 other people. then some dude, clearly some meathead guy walks in and gives us a 10 minute speech about opportunity and leadership. it's all management speak stuff, the kind of stuff that made me decide not to be a business major.

then he brings us in for one on one interviews. they last maybe 3 minutes. so then he tells me that i did great and wants me to move onto step two. step two, apparently, is a gigantic presentation in some conference room where all of these higher ups give speeches like the one he gave us in the smaller room. literally everyone that was in the smaller room with me got sent here too, despite his talk about how "i was a good fit" and "showed a lot of potential".

i sit in this conference room for 2 hours while these salesmen get up and give speeches about what they do. each one of them speaking entirely in business jargon. each one looks like the second they get home from work they change into their ed hardy gear. each one makes the same cheesy joke about the browns being a shitty team. the ceo of the company eventually gets up and shows us a slideshow about the "7 c's of hiring". it was awful.

my favorite part was that the main dude basically told us that he never sees his wife and kids because he's always at work, but that he's okay with that.

basically what i'm saying is that sales is for horrible, horrible people. have u ever done sales? r u a horrible, horrible people?
