i don't think she was ever a porn star?

but haha, yeah, great ep. i mean i know jimmy's horribly out of touch but when he didn't even know what she was talking about when she used the word 'boo' near the beginning and then made fun of the security i strapped in for the train wreck that never came. was even sort of shipping amber + eliot by the end

to make up for my pop culture illiteracy with a recommendation if no one's listened to this yet: my favorite murder with karen kilgariff and georgia hardstark is really fun.

it's basically a true crime podcast for people who like the idea but don't like the npr/public radio style that most of them have.

listened to the amber rose episode today at work and that might have been my favorite of the season. amber teaching matt how to sext his wife was like a top 5 nnf moment for me. "put the "baby" back on there".

i didn't know that howard kremer has a podcast where he just rambles about nothing for like a half hour. like basically every episode is just him recapping shark tank.

right now he's describing the plot of the vvitch. "black phillip was a goat! and he could talk! you gotta like that"

i didn't know how much i wanted this but i'm already sold

welp

at least upcoming podcasts should prove comforting after this week. the next nnf should be especially cathartic

(also if garon gets jimmy to admit bernie would have won, bonus)

yeah i can't listen to the most recent one that's presumably recorded before the election but the wait for the next one is killing me.

i dunno if anyone here likes chapo trap house but this upcoming week's episode should be really cathartic.

i think scott FINALLY stretched himself thin w/ the intensive touring and wrapping up the tv show. looking back this wasn't a super memorable year for the podcast proper

but holy shit this xmas episode is a contender for my new favorite episode period. nearly 3 hours of extreme punchiness with not a single dead moment -- and a certain someone finally got out of the plug bag!

sally forth, tally ho

yeah, agreed. i still love cbb but it's moved down a bit in my rotation. christmas episode was basically perfect.

"well, i work out of an abandoned factory and there's all these kids around and..."
"so it's not abandoned"
*and f...."
"just say it. say 'fuck you'"

the naughty or nice contest was one of the funniest bits they've ever done.

oh god, and the one dude saying he fucked gino's mom.

then at the end:

scott: are you sure you had sex with gino's mom?
gino: i'm certain

The best CBB's are always when everyone is thrown in a room and they shout at each other. Usually only happens for Christmas and anniversary and it always takes about two segments to fill the room. Starting off the show with a full room really made this episode. I normally remember holiday episodes by what happens after the last person is introduced, like 2010 was Brett Gelman trying to record his pig fucking poem as everyone kept interrupting him with their catchphrases, 2011 was Bill Cosby Bukowski Boss wearing a Kelsey Grammer second skin, 2014 was Neil Campbell's newscaster's order of news stories; but this one was a two hour blur due to how good it was.

It always smells good to me in those instances, but not when there is a larger quantity of shit around. I don't what it is about the smell that makes me feel like that, though.

i'd like to second the "xmas ep being my new favorite episode period" sentiment.

we could start a thread with favorite CBB moments; mine might be this (admittedly from the CDR days):

CBB's 8th Anniversary Show was straight-up BONKERS, which is saying something given the number of people NOT in attendance. Along those same lines, it's not often that Cake Boss (CakeBoss!) is in the lower tier of characters, but he's almost an afterthought here.

Chief may be the best new character in years, gumshoes.

Chief is so good, it works despite being paired with Bone Queef, the worst recurring character ever.

i'm about halfway through this and yeah "gumshoe" makes me laugh every time.

really loved this exchange:

scott: no, you're not 69, i did the math wrong.
regina: what?
scott: no 69
regina: okay let me just back out of this handstand

the last two minutes of this week's best show - and the last few minutes of this week's wurster call - were best-of worthy.

every time i see/hear paul f tompkins on a show i come closer to thinking he's the funniest person on the planet. i can't explain why but his reaction to eliot's soylent green joke on nnf made me laugh harder than i've ever laughed at a podcast besides ibrain and farts & procreation.
