oyyy the people at the ohio thing e-mailed me on the 6th about my travel plans but gmail stupidly sent it to the spam folder so i only just looked into now, just wondering since it had been a while since we'd last corresponded. ughg and now i just sent off those forms 13 days late. makes me feel like an asshole - i am usually very punctual about these things.

also this one girl that i got quite close to here and we did our big old europe trip together leaves tomorrow morning for mallorca (her home) and comes back the 29th which is the day i leave... we were supposed to hang out today but i guess things came up for her and so we didn't. :\

and i'm not ready to leave. and i have a 5 pg paper and an oral exam on friday... plus another 5 page thing. ughfd. need more time.

well since the board is slow today i'll just blab

Feeling intense anxiety today. No appetite, stomach sickness, too distracted at work, etc.

The girl I'm dating is basically my girlfriend now. We had "the talk" and she's been calling me her boyfriend and calling herself my girlfriend. I am amazed by this and happy. But terrified. I just feel like she'll dump me any second and my own insecurities are making me fucking crazy and I just want to like knock myself unconscious so I can stop worrying about it

Ok there I got that out.

Friday night after we saw Inception, she had a big depression attack and started sobbing violently. This was my first time seeing her depression issues that she had warned me about.

We lay in bed and I just hugged her till she felt better (took about an hour and a half), and she said I handled it amazingly, and even said things like "you make life a lot better" and "if you weren't here this would have been so much worse", "how are you so amazing", etc, etc.

But when her mood immediately shifted to happy again, I was kind of traumatized and shaken and then I got really bad and sad and weird...we basically took turns being sad and messed up.

So that was my friday. It wasn't anything new -- all my girlfriends have had random unprovoked sobbing fits so I'm used to it. But it was still hard. Now here at work I'm feeling really off and weirded out about life.

THE LOUNGE.

The neurotic shit is all in your head, Jordan. Just remember that. It's my personal motto, and is the best advice I could ever give you.

besides being prescribed drugs, which i tried and didn't work for me, i'm not sure how to calm down at all

do you mean in response to the sobbing fits, or instead of having sobbing fits?

oh

it's just true....if I was several years younger I would have been blown away and shocked by my girlfriend sobbing violently out of nowhere

but i was with a girl for 2 years straight who did it every night. you just...get better at handling it. sort of.

EDIT: Not to underplay how awful it was to see this girl like this, and for the first time. She had warned me about her depression and crying fits but it broke my heart to see her so upset and crazy. Great Friday night.

Or "board, the rapist™"
...
just a thought.

I need to buy a new mattress. My new bedroom furniture will be delivered shortly and I want to have a proper sized mattress prior to its arrival.

It's not an endeavour that I am looking forward to. Mattress salesmen are pushy dicks whom take advantage of their customers ignorance... at least that's my perception. The remedy to this situation is to learn more about mattresses... something I want to do even less than putting up with the salesman in the first place.

Plus even if I wanted to learn more... your resources are pretty much limited to: mattress salesmen. At least with a car I can compare specs, features, appearance & costs online to inform myself. With a mattress there is only cost & comfort... neither can be researched effectively online since very few mattress stores actually publish their prices and comfort varies from person to person.

So I'll go the store... and make my stand on irrelevant concepts just so I can feel that I didn't let the salesman push me around, and I'll end up overpaying for a mattress. Such an abhorrent process.

doesn't IKEA have pretty reasonably priced/comfy mattresses? I've never gotten one from their but it would definitely be the lowest pressure sales team you can deal with I'm sure.

Yeah... I just ended up going to Sleep Country and buying one from a pretty girl. Spent about twice as much as I anticipated... but it's really nice. I figure you spread the cost out over all the years of use and its worth it.

I was a little surprised at how much it cost... but the freakin mattress felt like the bed at the Bellagio, which is one of the best mattresses I've ever slept on. Well... the Bellagio 5 years ago... when I was there a few months ago, the mattress was a little lumpy (by their standards)... poor Bellagio might be starting to show her age.

Subject Change:

Funny Or Die posted this "undercover karaoke" bit with Jewel: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/4a8...oke-with-jewel

Not sure if non-karaoke fans will find it that interesting, but as a karaoke fan I find this very cool. Apparently it's being pitched around as a possible TV show.... which would be cool for about a season until it's own success causes it's downfall (when people catch on too easily). Although, will it have success with non-karaoke fans? Dunno.

When I was buying the mattress after work yesterday, there were a lot of cops around the other business in the building, a MoneyTree Payday loan place. Just read on the local news that apparently it was robbed at gunpoint.

Yep... I picked a great neighborhood.

i feel really silly about being so excited about it but the ohio seminar people told us to read the first chapter of this book:

http://www.amazon.com/BFI-Film-Class...9679215&sr=8-2
and that they have a paperback copy waiting for us when we arrive. free book! about an interesting, good movie!

also
8/8-8/14: columbus, oh
8/14-8/19: chicago, il
8/19-8/27: nyc
the cogs are turning in my head, gearing for a meetup of sorts.
