it's unbelievable how some teams still don't understand when and how to use the power plays

Today the 'deshis took their Batting PP from overs 46-50, (as did England) - so it's clear what their game plan is. "Written in stone" would be good words to describe these tactics i feel.
Still, at least they had wickets in hand this time and posted a useful 260-6 (Imrul Kayes 63 off 113, Mushrifiqur Rahim 76 off 88, Bresnan 3-51)

England 261-8 thanks mainly to Morgan's unbeaten 110 off 104. Good knocks from Cook (yet again out in the 60's) and Prior 42. Bangladesh bowled well tho' Shakib 3-32, Razzak 3-52 and looked good for their first ever win over England, when they had us 229-8 off 46. Shakib shoulda kept his spinners on, cos Morgan took Shafiul to the cleaners and finished off the win with 7 balls to spare.
Despite 9 defeats in a row Bangladesh look like they're improving, maybe they'll beat a complacent England in the final match of the series on Friday.

Tomorrow i do believe it's the 1st ODI of the Chappell-Hadlee series in Napier.

Indeed it is, and a fantastic game.

Some solid Australian batting, but no one really went on, crucial wicket at opportune times for NZ bowlers.

Chasing 276, we do it with 4 balls to spare. Scott Styris scores an unbeaten 49 to win. Orams Black Cap career could potentially be over. Vettori ruled out half an hour before the game, taylor captains the side to a win over australia and scores a fantastic knock of 70

very nice win for NZ with some players missing, the Aussie card looks alright but someone needed to stand up for the bowlers; Harris, Watson and Bollinger were all too expensive.

Yeah, he used to play Irish hurling which has helped give him a decent technique - his average of 39 aint bad. It was also his 2nd ODI ton - which is amazin, 'cos tons are like rocking-horse shit for England.

I noticed they were showing the Eng/'Deshi game via live feed to the US on Cricinfo/ESPN, but not for anywhere else. I guess they'll be showing it on Fox/Sky in NZ like they are over here?

Na, we're not getting it on Sky either. We tend to get England home series, Australia home series and big ones like India hosting Aussie.

Yeah Oram buggered up his Achilles while fielding and was only going to bat at 11 and if required with a runner. (if the game was in the balance).

i find myself feeling happy whenever the aussies lose now. their behaviour when there's even a hint of the opposition being competitive is so predictable.

why does the side have to be such a pack of cunts?

my guess is that they're a younger side than we had in the 90's and are basically used to winning

Guess being a bad loser is someth'n most of us can't grasp - unless there's a vid game you usually trounce that actually decides to put up a fight - "Take that controller, how dare you defeat me. Oh shit, time to buy a new one!"

Styris v Johnson ODI2 - looks like Vetorri will replace Oram, while probably no change for Aus.

was a great tournament last year, really entertaining. holland beating england was sorta embarrassing but hilarious at the same time

yeah, I reckon Pakistan to take it out again. They've won like 19 T20 games straight. I reckon NZ has a chance (as I always hope) because we have ryder and mills back in our side finally afterr injury.

for some reason, the aussies are favourites to take the championship. would be surprised if they make it past the first round

pakistan lost their first game like they did last year, but if they thrash Bangladesh like they beat Holland, i can still see them winning it, although obviously, Bangladesh are a much better team

We play the West Indies today. Hope this year we can at least get to the semis, which we haven't done in any one-day tournament for a while
