that's a total lie actually. i definitely watched canada win at vancouver and i watched game 2 of this series outside a bar in wicker park, hockey games just all kind of blend together for me i guess

what is hockey really? has anyone ever really thought about it? you're on a frozen surface. there's a puck. i think the indians invented it. 95% of what i know about it comes from happy gilmore, the other 5% from nhl 2k2 on sega dreamcast

i don't really care if boston wins in a sport where only boston cares if they win the sport.

If CHI wins: I'm admin for a month, you change your avatar to something Blackhawks-related (probably Kane or Toews) for a month.

If BOS wins: I have to change my name to TOM BRADY (all caps) and use a Tom Brady avatar. And all my posts have to be in Comic Sans or I'm banned. All for a month.

(Your "punishment" isn't as harsh as mine because you have more to offer if I win.)

if so, if chicago wins i'll make my facebook image something blackhawks-related as well.

somehow I knew that this might happen

if you want to change it to someone else, so be it, if your team wins.

if the bruins win, andy changes his avatar to neifi perez

if the blackhawks win, eric changes his avatar to dice-k

your respective baseball teams' least valuable players of the past decade or something. NO TEBOW

re: the actual series, i'll give a cliched "i hate one team and don't really care all that much for the other one either but would root for them if i absolutely was forced to choose, so i'm just hoping for an exciting series that goes 7" response

detroit would fit in this category too, since i'd argue it's the only major sports city in the states in which the nhl team is the most popular of all. not even the twin cities, located in the STATE OF HOCKEY (puke) can say that. though detroit is like a third world country, so maybe that's what you meant by "that country tucked all the way down there"

How do folks feel about the Coyotes possibly moving to Seattle? It seems like it could possibly be a good hockey market, but they'd be playing at KeyArena, which only seats 11,000. With no NBA relocation/expansion opportunities on the immediate horizon, a new stadium might not happen so quickly.

I'd like it because I can probably see some cheap games. Vancouver games as I am sure everyone knows are way too expensive. I've only seen one game since the lockout.

sure as hell makes a lot more sense than phoenix. i'm okay with it

@Andy, where are you getting 11,000 from? the key's wiki page says just over 15,000 for hockey. still quite small though, of course, but it can't be much worse than playing in a city that fills its arena to 3/4 capacity every game

edit: oh, maybe i should have read the article that says 11,000 in it. still always thought it was a bit bigger than that though

Maybe Seattle could revive their old "Totems" name
