Cuz you're a special girl, You're not like my Grandma. Cuz she's dead and you're not.

jake 01-25-2013 02:06 PM

That evan greer is great.

I know they don't fit the thread title, but has anyone listened to the new bad religion? I thought the last two were pretty terrible but this one isn't bad.

ray_winstone 01-25-2013 02:43 PM

this bloke pinched slapshot's banner

amazing

Darren.Erg 01-25-2013 05:56 PM

i saw masked intruder play to an empty room (well, other band members+their friends) and it was a bummer. p good on record though.

Squeaky Voiced Teen 02-01-2013 11:14 PM

Jealous! I need to see this band live. Flawless record! Also nice AV @nathan

nathan 02-01-2013 11:45 PM

Haha, thanks. They were great live, the bummer was that no one was there to see it.

shackleton 02-02-2013 04:17 PM

seeing these guys tonight, should be fun

nathan 02-05-2013 03:11 PM

cheap girls just released a live album today on their own label. it's digital download only but like i mentioned a few posts back, 100% of the money generated from it goes toward ian's medical bills.

http://cheapgirls.bandcamp.com/album...ds-mi-12-30-12

also, i was at the show. pretty solid, as always.

wallet inspector 02-06-2013 01:52 AM

descendents and bouncing souls are playing tonight, but i think i will skip it and go to bomb the music industry tomorrow night

ray_winstone 02-07-2013 10:51 AM

been revisiting my united mutation records today <3

wallet inspector 02-07-2013 08:55 PM

btmi were great despite the show being at a horrible venue, they are playing again on saturday at a better venue so hopefully i can get to that

haha! that's awesome.

And this has been my favorite song for the last two weeks:

nathan 02-14-2013 01:48 PM

slapshot is that hardcore band with songs about killing people for drinking beer and how more people should have died in 9/11 right?

i think i got one of their albums on a whim years ago because of the band name.

zach 02-14-2013 09:58 PM

the only thing i like about slapshot was that choke would wear his bruins jersey during gigs.

oh god, they're still around?

nathan 02-18-2013 09:22 PM

acoustic version of cheap girls' "gone all summer" from some comp.

i know this is supposedly about "unpopular" punk bands but i'm not sure where else to post this so i'm just using the thread as a kind of punk rock catch all.

descendents release $75.00 watch

the descendents are cool and all but the recent influx of milo branded things over the past few years is getting outta control. that's 75 dollars that won't get spent buying merch from bands that still write, record, tour and need it.

jake 02-20-2013 06:22 PM

the descendents have really embrace the 80s punk nostalgia wave that peaked in the early 2000s more than most bands for sure. i mean articles of faith and gang green and others have gotten back together to tour but really the descendents did two average-to-boring albums then sold a bunch of stuff with milo's face on it or licensed a ton of stuff to video games.

really, i think it's interesting to see how punk bands age, especially bands from that era. it's also sad to think a lot of those dudes probably work desk jobs now. like what's battalion of saints doing right now?

at least descendents its the actual dudes who were there at the start, not like that fucking dead kennedys without jello bullshit.

ray_winstone 02-21-2013 02:58 PM

fairly annoyed with myself for kipping on this record for so long

Ya that's pretty lame, punk is no better then classic rock.

Have you guys heard about the rival Black Flag reunions that are happening this year? I don't know, I think some things are best left in the past. The idea that Ron Reyes is going to be on a new black flag album 33 years later seems kind of ridiculous.

nathan 02-22-2013 03:48 PM

that whole situation is a mess. and forbes covered it

/punk

derek 02-22-2013 04:18 PM

yeah, i don't support either band. though black flag IS greg ginn in all fairness.
